Only ONE cook up in this kitchen February 1, 2011

 

red lentils prepared with vegetable broth. (red) potato pancake on top of lentils. Mix of vegetables on top of potato pancake. (zucchini, yellow squash, onions, garlic, mushrooms, carrots, spinach. slightly thickened with oat flour)

Navy Bean, Brown Rice & Spinach burgers. They don't taste like anything, so I cheated/added italian/balsamic dressing to the pan. Onions, garlic, salt and pepper, shakes of random spices are up in the mix. 2 burgers have OLD BAY =) Now imagine a fresh slice of avocado, lettuce, tomato & a drop of hot sauce up on here!

Too bad I wasn’t born in the 40’s . . .

I HAVE LOVED RICKY NELSON since childhood & AIN’T nothing changing that!  I can recall the day I received the news of his death.  I was in the ACME parking lot, and I heard it on the radio.  It only spells one thing, D-E-V-A-S-T-A-T-E-D.  I think there may have been piles of snow in the parking lot as well –that or my memories of ACME are running into my Ricky Nelson memory.  I always wanted to run up the hills of snow in that lot, so maybe my memories merged. I can also recall the day I heard Redd Foxx passed away.  I was on a certain turn on Route 50, headed to the orthodontist & his death was announced on the radio.

I just picked up Ricky’s greatest hits via iTunes.  All my faves up on there.  No more gawking @ youtube.  Just open iTunes and put that bitch on REPEAT!
